[Scholarships] [GKS] Temporary Departure Guidelines (Vacation Period)

[Application for Temporary Departure]

  • Temporary departure must be applied for within the official vacation period.(the day after the end of the semester until the day before the start of the next semester.)

  • Departure period: from the date of leaving Korea to the date of returning to Korea.
    (※“Semester” and “break period” are determined by the university, not individual academic schedules.)

  • Submission: Please send the completed form (including the Department Head of your major’s signature) and your round-trip e-ticket are scanned. Submit both documents as PDF files via email to the GKS coordinator’s email or the GSIS office email(gsis@ajou.ac.kr)

  • Note: Unauthorized departure or staying outside the approved period may result in warnings or loss of scholarship eligibility.


[Application for Temporary Departure Change]

  • If there are any changes to your temporary departure period or reason, please submit The attached Temporary Departure Change Form along with your updated e-ticket via email immediately to ensure timely approval.

  • Unauthorized changes may result in warnings.


[Re-entry Document]

  •  After returning to Korea from your temporary departure, you must submit your Certificate of Entry and Departure document within 7 days. (Submission is available by email or in person at Yulgok Hall, Room 155.)

  • You can visit a nearby Dong Office or Community Service Center to get the certificate issued (please bring your ARC).

  • Please refer to the image below for a detailed sample of the Certificate of Entry and Departure. 



 [Scholarship Payment]

  • Domestic stay 15 days → full scholarship

  • Domestic stay <15 days → calculated on a per-day basis and deducted accordingly before payment

  • (※ Up to 30 days of temporary departure per semester is counted as domestic stay)
