2023 Ajou GSIS - KANGOS International Symposium for Asian Civil Society Leadership

On June 9th, the Ajou GSIS and the Korean Association of NGO Studies(KANGOS) had the pleasure to organize a joint international symposium for summer 2023. It was a great opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas on Women's Leadership in Asian Civil Society between the professionals in the field and the KOICA Asia Civil Society Leadership Master's students. The event took place in the Yulgok Hall Conference Room, from 13:30. At the symposium, professor Byeong-Yun Chang, professor Byoung Kwan Kim, professor Hyung Wook Jeong, professor Hyun Sik Chang, and Soogil Oh(President of KANGOS), professor Jung Ok Lee(Daegu Catholic University / 8th Minister of Gender Equality and Family of the ROK), professor Suk-Ki Kong(Seoul National University Asia Center), professor Taewook Huh(Gyeongsang National University), and professor Kadir Jun Ayhan(Ewha Womans University), professor Heather A. Willoughby(Ewha Womans University) joined to share their knowledge in civil society. 13 students of the KOICA Asia Civil Society Leadership program and 20 students from the NGO/IDC department also joined us at the symposium. KOICA students Abigail Amon(Philippines) and Lestari Fitri(Indonesia) presented their work for the graduate student session.
