NEW (2015-04-29) Professor Byung Min Ahn wins ‘2015 Young Scientist Award’ from the Korea Institute of Metals and Materials

Ajou University Professor Byung Min Ahn (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Graduate School’s Department of Energy System Research, pictured above) won the ‘2015 Young Scientist Award’ from the Korea Institute of Metals and Materials (KIM).

 

The presentation ceremony for the Award took place on April 23rd at the Changwon Exhibition Convention Center during the 2015 Spring Academic Conference and Extraordinary General Meeting of KIM.

 

KIM’s Young Scientist Award is presented to young researchers who are under the age of 40 and have been recognized for continually publishing outstanding papers or books on metals and materials, thus contributing greatly to the development of metal and material engineering. KIM selected Professor Ahn as the recipient of the ‘2015 Young Scientist Award’ on March 13th at its board of directors meeting.

 

Professor Byung Min Ahn was acknowledged for contributing to the development of the relevant field through active research on making highly strong and lightweight structural metal materials by using nano technology. Professor Ahn received his doctoral degree in 2008 from the University of Southern California and has served as a professor at Ajou University since 2011.
