[Notice] ARC application for the freshmen

Dear freshmen students,


Wlecome to the Korea and AJOU UNIVERSITY GSIS.


We hope you enjoy your campus life for about 2 years.


To stay in Korea more than 90 days, you must make your ARC within 3 months after you arrived in Korea.


GSIS office will help you to apply for the ARC to the immgration offce.

Before you submit the documents to the GSIS offce, you should prepare all forms and documents.


Please be aware of the documents which is required for the applying your ARC.


*You should print out the forms and copy your passport by yourself.

*We donot offer the forms, so do not come to our office and request it.


[ARC application required documents]


1. Application Form 


2. 1 color headshot photo

- Must be 3.5cmX4.5cm size taken against white background; taken within 6 months of the time frame. 

- Photo should be different from your photo in the passport.


3. Certificate of Enrollment

- You can print it out from the kiosk at the stuent union building 2.

- Or you can print it our from Ajou portal.

- You must print out "재학증명서" in Korean. Or you can print out the English version.


4. Copy of your passport


5. Copy of your Student Visa Grant Notice


6. House Contract

* If the contract is not under your name, you should submit

6-1) Copy of the ARC, both front and back, of the person who signed on the contract. And you should have the person who signed the contract fill in and sign the 'Confirmation of Residence'.


6-2) If you live in Goshiwon, you should bring Goshiwon contract, Certificate of Business Registration, and Confirmation of Residence


6-3) If you live in Dormitory, you need to print out a 'Dormitory Certificate of Residence' from Ajou portal.


7) Application Fee : 35,000won (Cash Only)


* We always send an email regarding the ARC application, so please check the content and bring all documents on settled date and time. 


*After submitting the documents to us, we will send you an email about registering your fingerprint to the system.


*Usually making an ARC takes at least a  month after you submit documents to the GSIS office. 

*So do not ask us about when you can get your ARC. We will send an email when your ARC arrives.
