Mandatory Group Health Insurance for GSIS Students (included in tuition bill, Spring 2014)

                                                     Mandatory Health Insurance Requirement (GSIS Students)

Health insurance is mandatory at Ajou University for international students.  Its fee will be included in the tuition bill (65,000won). 

It is very important to be insured for international students’ own safety during study period at Ajou university, please read the below instruction for university’s insurance policy: 

 
1.Who :  Enrolled all degree-seeking international students 
           •Undergraduate and Postgraduate KGSP students are excluded 
           •National Health Insurance holders are excluded (who have submitted national health insurance to the university only)
           •Korean Language Student and Exchange students are excluded(will be separately announced)

2.Insurance : Dongbu Inbound Student Studying Abroad Insurance (insurance purchased via OIA previously) 
           •Please see the attached Insurance Service and Product information

3.How to purchase: included in your tuition bill, and pay when tuition is paid 
           •Postgraduate: 65,000/Semester(Master, integrated, Ph.D. are all included)
           •If you pay health insurance fee in your tuition bill in registration period  (20th February~ March), you will get the health insurance that valid 15 of March, 2014 ~ 14 of September, 2014.  
           •If you didn't pay health insurance fee in your tuitin bill, you can pay by wire transfer to Health Insurance Company after register on the web site in this way <Form attached(attanched file 1)>

4.Failure to pay health insurance: Those students who do not pay for health insurance fees by 1/4 of the semester will be suspended to use E-Class and university issuance certificates.  And those of students don’t have insurance during 2014 Spring semester cannot apply for 2014 fall semester scholarship.
- Spring Semester: As of April 1st, /Fall Semester: As of October.1st

5. Insurance Fee Refund: Please refer to the insurance agency service dates and time <Form attached (Attached file 2)>  when refund is needed due to change of registration status(such as dismiss or semester leave of absence) or transfer to the national health insurance and etc.  Students in need of refund should visit the agency service hours, and ask for refund individually. 

6.Notes: GSIS Students who are National Health Insurance holders or other private insurance holders whose tuition bill included health insurance fee should visit to GSIS office and notify that you are insured(confirm the original insurance and submit copy)
           •Must visit the GSIS office  and confirm the truth(submit the copy of after confirmation)
           •Submit By: March  27th (Thursday), 2014 
           • *** Any type of health insurance have to valid March ~ middle of September, 2014***
