[Speical Lecture of Dr. Sara Pantuliano : Sep. 30th]

Join us for the first Public ReDI-Save the Children, World Vision’s Talk in collaboration with the most well-known think-tank, ODI Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG). We invite Sara Pantuliano, Director of HPG to Seoul, Korea. As a political scientist with 20 years of experience in conflict and post-conflict contexts, she highlights to the Korean public critical issues with respect to a) the opportunities and challenges of saving lives in politically complex humanitarian practices and b) the possibilities and obstacles in translating humanitarian realities into policy.

 

Dr. Sara Pantuliano will draw on herprofessional experience to give insights on the topic of linking humanitarian practices and policy. Invited guests will discuss opportunities and challenges in re-thinking Korea’s humanitarian assistance by taking a look at the political, social and cultural complexities. Together we seek to explore new roles and responsibilities for Korea in international humanitarian assistance at a critical time of increasing ODA budget and hope to formulate a new humanitarian policy.

 

The joint event will be held at 7 apm at a heap venue, Space Rye , Seoul City’s Social Economy Center The talk will be delivered in English and interpretation into Korean is provided. Call Seonyeon Shin, ReDI if you have any questions
